Cause and effect Essay Example for Free
Cause and effect EssayI am going to be talking about the cause and effects of peer stuff on todays teens. Most of the time peer pressure is caused when teens develop the difficult desire to fit in and be accepted by others. In high school most teens think that to fit in they have to be noticed and do whatever the popular crowd is doing, even if that means they will get in trouble. What some pargonnts dont realize these geezerhood is that they have a strong influence on their nestlingrens lives and how they handle day to day issues. When youre tuff and set good guide lines for your child and teach them disparage from right they will be less tempted to do wrong because they will have guidance. Some off the effects that peer pressure can cause can be harmful or lead to being kicked out of school. When teens are persuaded into doing the wrong thing there is going to be consequences for their actions. It could result in the child being kicked off of their team, out of school or ev en worse, they could end up in jail. The causes of peer pressure are very real in todays society and if your teen or child isnt careful who they hang around, they might be pressured into doing the wrong thing. Make sure to talk with your child and let them know that you are there for them and they can come to you whenever they need to talk about something.

Big Five Basic Trait Clusters Essay Example for Free
Big Five Basic Trait Clusters EssayIn the general orbit of psychology, the concept of attribute of each individual comprises collectively their attitude, behavior, motivational factor, and other significant characteristics relative to their individuality. These specific traits manifest and determine dominantly their works, perception, and other reasoning in which the characteristics of their trait become the foundation of their personality. In particular to this field, the empirical field of psychology establishes five major personality traits significant in the determination and compartmentalization of personality characteristics. These major classifications are established based on the manifested characteristic of the involved individual and its influence on the persons social characteristics and behavior. In the empirical field of psychology, the five major trait clusters are established as openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. The trai t characteristic of openness is mainly related to the affiliation and predisposition of the person towards the field of art, adventure, emotion, unusual ideas and eccentricity, with a commonly heightened passion for creativity and imagination. The trait of conscientiousness display broad tendency towards self-discipline, responsibility, ductility in action and behavior, and inclination towards achievements. The trait of extraversion is characterized dominantly by restfulness, positive emotion, and a significant motivation from social companionship. The fourth trait namely agreeableness display great tendency towards being compassionate and cooperative towards others with minimal antagonistic behavior in their social relationship. The last trait cluster namely neuroticism is characterized by the persons susceptibility to unpleasant emotions such as vulnerability towards depression, anger, behavioral instability, and anxiety.Considering the characteristics and fundamental concepts be hind each behavioral cluster, this author particularly stripping much connection towards the group classification of openness and conscientiousness manifested with the behavior and personality of this author. Based on personal assessment, among the dominant behavior of this author are his artistic expressionism, adventurous personality, imaginative design, ingenuity, and a great value towards curiosity.Based on this, this author determine that he is inclined towards an opened behavioral trait yet, his perception towards personal responsibility and discipline makes him also a conscientious person. Based on these factors, the author of this paper belongs to both traits with an equal manifestation of their characteristics. Bibliography Wiggins, Jerry S. (1996). What Is Animal Abuse?
What Is sensual Abuse? What is wildcat detestation. Animal abuse is a behavior that harming animals for other(a) purposes and reasons other than self-protection and survival. This kind of cases is increasing year by year throughout the world every year. There argon several chemical elements that contri ande to this uncouth act.One of the factors that led to animal abuse is neglect. Nowadays, many great deal essential to keep a deary vindicatory because the animals are wily. People see those cute animals such as puppy, kitten and rabbit through mass media. The mass media include advertisements and or so TV shows. After they saw those cute and adorable animals they emergency to keep it as darling, so they go to the pet shop to buy. They never think twice before they bring those animals back to their home. They never think that they dont cede time to take care their pets. This get out causes harms to their pets. In this 21st century most of the volumes and families are b usy with their work, and they dont have time feed and play with their pets. When their pet is sick, they dont even notice and do not have time to bring their pet to the veterinarians. As a result, this pass on lead to animal inclemency.Besides that, some of the TV shows and endorse shows also will lead to animal abuses. Some of the game shows will use animal as their selling point to perpetrate viewers in tack to boost up their viewership rating for the particular shows. Some of game shows even torture and pain the animals in order to induce good ratings for the show. For example, an American game show known as Fear Factor often uses animal to in their shows as a challenge to their game shows participants. In one of the episodes, the participants are required to use their mouth to move the snakes from one box to another box. This action will cause harm to the snakes and this is a very foolish and very unethical action done by human being. other factor that will lead to animal abuse or animal cruelty is the science research. In this century, science is very important for human being. Science is important to human beings in term of medications, technologies and others. In order to make humans life easier a lots of researches and experiments need to be carry out. Some of these experiments will involve animals. For example, in order to produce or invent new medicines animal will be the first one who test the drugs for the side effects. Besides, for education purpose in school or university, students are required to dissect animals such as rats and frogs in biology class in order to understand more about the system and facts about those animals. Animal abuse happens in this case indirectly. In additions, emphasis and anger will is also one of the factors that will contribute to animal abuse. This phenomenon happens when someone got too stress from his work or studies and they have no way to release it, they will release it on their pets. Those people will to rture their pets by not supply their pet or even uses brutal strength such ass kick and hit their pets. Anger will also cause animal cruelty happens. When some weak people such as students got bullied and humiliate at school and they have no strength or power to protect and patronise them self, they will get their revenge on animals by torturing them. They do this because they think those small animals like puppies and kittens are small and defenseless against them.Another factor that will lead to animal abuse is the psychological factor. Some people out there have psychology and mental problem. They want the power to ascendence people and dominate people, but they are not capable enough. So, they try to dominate the animals and control the animals by giving order and punishment as they want. Another type of psychology problem some people like to see animal being torture or they personally like to torture animal themselves for personal satisfaction. This is a kind of disease or m ental disorder. People with this kind of mental disorder are mostly having trauma during their childhood time. These people are most likely being abuse by their parents or being bullied in school time. These people need medication to control their civilize or else they will get worse. Another psychology problem that led to animal cruelty is the people who bully the animal to seek for public attention. These people are those who are commonly neglect by the society. They feel that they do not existence in the society and they feel that they are ignored. So they want to do something to let the public know about their existence. Some of these people will abuse and torture the animals to prove their existence in the society. Some of the parents will buy pets to accompany their children. Parents nowadays are busy with their works and do not have time to play with their children. So they buy a pet for them to accompany them to play with them and make them happy. But they never thought that their children do not how to take care the animals. Sometimes is not they want to abuse the animals, but the will they treat the animals like feeding them too much will indirectly causes harm to the animals.Another factor that will contribute to animal abuse is culture. Some of the culture will contribute to animal abuse. Those cultures are like a traditional festival for them and they must carry it out. For example Spains bulls fight festival. This festival is a very cruel and unethical festival. This festival is actually a festival that butchers a bull to entertain audiences. Besides that, some of the people will even kill those animals just for the skin of the animal. For example, human being kills those snakes, crocodiles and bulls just for their skin to make wallets and handbags.Besides that, some human will also kill the animal for gaining personal profit. Shark fin is a very good example of animal cruelty. In order to get the shark fin, they will just cut off the fin of th e shark and throw them back into the sea. The shark without the fin will hardly swim and eventually the sharks will die in the sea. Another example of this point is eating puppy or wieners. In China, they will slaughter the dogs and puppy in their shop and cook it for the customers. Eating dog is an unethical behavior to do.In addition, animal training may also lead to animal abuse. To train an animal to obey to a command is not an easy task or more precise is a very hard task. All animals are different. Some of the people may eventually scandalise the animal without noticing when they are training the animals. Some of the training needs punishment to let the animals know or remember the move the people teach them. For example, in a circus, animal such as tiger, lion, and elephant need training before they can perform in front of the audience, during the training the people may hurt them without noticing because animals cant express themselves well.http//www.pet-abuse.com/pages/an imal_cruelty/why.phphttp//voices.yahoo.com/animal-abuse-leading-causes-stop-it-6289042.html?cat=48http//www.nhes.org/sections/view/330http//tcr.sagepub.com/content/2/2/177.abstracthttp//www.sunbearsquad.org/risks.shtml

Design Distance Measurer Based On Fpga Information Technology Essay there be variety applications in cheat finder thingmajigs. Their main single-valued portion is in aras where traditional measuring devices such as rulers, tape cards and other measuring devices ar impropriate. Nowadays, the traditional measuring device digest be re level by modern measuring device such as place government noter base on optic maser. It has been implemented in short(p) float distance even long cheat distance. The idea for using optical maser for range finding came when we lowlife see that contractor had many problems in measuring the distance of the building especially from the floor to the ceiling. When it came to very(prenominal) high ceiling, such as in hall, stadium even close sport-court, the handling of rulers or tape measures really a waste of succession even need very hard work. This back be formified as uses in unhopeful tech world alone in the high tech world, this distance measurer base on laser can be use with binocular in military use, especially for sniper. The observer can get the real distance of the enemy where the sniper can snipe from very far distance. This confound is intentional to be a laser distance measurer of detecting the distance of the object (wall) up to 10 meter away. The design based on simple physics, the distance traveled between two locations can be easily calculated if the speeds of travel argon known. This device calculates the time is takes for a laser travel to, rebound hit and return from a stationary object1.2 Problem StatementBefore this, we measure the distance using ruler or measuring tape, so this project design is to help human being by saving time and effort so we can measure the distance faster than originally. In physics or everyday discussion, distance whitethorn refer to a physical length, or an estimate based on other criteria. In mathematics, a distance function or metric is a generalization of the concept of physical distanc e (Distance, 2010). In science, measurement is the process of estimating or de barrierining the magnitude of a quantity like length or mass, compared with a measurement unit, like a meter or a kilogram (Measurement, 2010). The measure term can also be used to refer to a ad hoc result obtained by the method of measurement Distance measurement is a process where we need distance measuring instrument which can measure the distance if the distance is short or long. The SI unit for each measurement is the meter (m) but there are many units of length such as feet, yard, inches etc, but they are not lineified as SI unit of length.Remote sensing using the light sensor is widely used for implementing unstable robot. The main attraction of the distance light detecting means is its user friendliness of how to use it without need knowledge about it. The measurement precision is slimly express and care must be taken to ensure that the environment is not subject to temperature changes and th e sensor should not be confused by vomit up reflections from material adjacent to the target. Even with these limitations, laser range finder has a wide application especially when the target is far away and the action required is low. But some propagation the laser must be reflected after the laser strike any target, which means that if the laser hit a transparent material, the slowness cannot be done. But the light system based on distance measurement are inherently more accurate than ultrasound techniques because of the narrow beam angles commonly used and the restrictions of freedom inevitably fundamentally mechanical acoustic signal generation and detection. These are wide ranges of techniques that can be used to measure distance using light. These vary greatly in be and function of the laser distance measuring system is very overpriced in cost compared to the system for measuring distance using ultrasonic.2.2 Optical Distance Measurement2.2.1 IntroductionWide variety of in dustrial, commercial and research use optical sensor for distance measurement. Most sensors use visible or infrared laser beam to project a light spot on a target, the surface on which distance should be measured, the distance from the place back in the light detecting portion of the probe is measuring several waysThere are several factors to consider when specifying a laser distance sensor. They include maximum range, sensitivity, target reflectance and specularity, accuracy and resolution and sampling absolute oftenness.2.2.2 DefinitionSome of the terms that related to optical sensing (e.g. laser or ultrasonic) and distance measurement that must be take notes as some knowledge before the measurement can be done. Some of the knowledge that must be take notes is defined and described briefly here (Glossary of Laser Sensor Terminology, 2010). rank When a laser pointed at some surface, the light is reflected into the detector in an optical sensor. This can refer to a surface or mat erial designed to reflect light, in which the sensor is pointed. To determine the maximum range of a sensor, reflectance target is the most important factorCooperative backside A target or any material designed by the manufacture to reflect the light to a sensor detector. It also provides the return signal to the moltenator input higher after the laser beam and more. Cooperative target include glass cube, reflectors street corner, retrospective reflective tape and other material made by several manufacturers. In some applications, the mirror can also be used as targets of cooperation. mannequin 2.1 Cooperative Target (Module 6)Uncooperative Target The material is not specifically designed to reflect light onto the sensor art object taking the measurement. Can be generally referred to an object that scattering light. The term is used because the target in return cannot be reflected beam, this includes metal or painted surfaces, liquids and solids or loose granularFigure 2.2 Un cooperative Target (Module 6) retroactive reflection The reflection of light off a target object or surface back in the beamion from which it came, for a wide range of angle of nonessential, either it came in 180 reflection or any degree as long it reflect to it sources. It can be said that the retro reflection will produce minimum scattering light. Retro reflection is achieved through multiple reflections within a retro reflector. Retro reflectors include corner cubes and retro reflective tape. A high quality corner cube retro reflector will return virtually all the light incoming it to its source. Corner cubes may be used to extend range hundreds or thousands of clock over ordinary surfaces. A corner cube array was go away on the moon to allow accurate measurement of its distance from the earth. Some of the example item that commonly being used in many applications is retro reflective tape. It typically consists of microspheres or cubes of glass or plastic which act like many tiny retro reflectors.Figure 2.3 Retro reflection surface (Retroreflector, 2010)Diffuse construction This terms is being use when a light strikes the target and scattered over a wide angle which mean the incident ray reflected in many angles.. Plain white paper of flat (not slick) wall paint is good mete out materials. It can be clearified as the best uncooperative targets, and may be measured to over a wide range of incident angles (up to 80 degrees for some materials).Untitled.jpgFigure 2.4 Diffuse Reflection Surface (Diffuse Reflection, 2010)Specular Reflection It occurs when the light strikes a shiny or mirror-like surface and is reflected away in one angle which is same to the angle it reflects. Glass, liquid surfaces and polished metal are specula and generally it needs a sensor configured specifically for specula surfaces. This behaviour is described in the law of reflection where it all told follows the law itself.Figure 2.5 Specular Reflection Surface (Specular Refle ction, 2010)Reflectance The step of light reflected from the target, expressed as a percentage of incidents light. Diffuse reflectance refers to the amount of light scattered in all directions by a diffuse target. Specular reflectance refers to the amount of reflected light is reflected for example a mirror. Reflectance depends on the target color and com plant and the frequency of light is reflected. Diffuse surfaces often vary from 3% to 95% reflectance. Many surfaces such as pain and glossy coated paper are diffuse and specular components of reflectionMaximum Range The maximum distance of sensors that picks up the reflected light and to obtain an accurate measurement of the distance. The maximum range may be limited by laser designer, the amount of light reflected from the target and the sensitivity of the detector. It may also be limited by the measurement method used and the distance that the sensor is accurately calibratedLaser Power It is the optical power level emitted by the laser sensor. The power can be specified as average power or peak power and average, if the sensor product thumps of intermittent light. If all other factors being equal, the maximum range increases in proportion to the square root of laser power, if power is multiplied by four, it will double the maximum range it can achieved. Laser power is expressed in Watts Mill (mW) or watts (W).Sample Rate The frequency of a sensor updates its create range. The sampling frequency capability of remote sensors varies widely, depending on the measurement method that being used and the design of the devices. The sampling frequency can be as low as one model every few seconds and run a million samples per second..Response Time It is the delay between the time changes in target position and the time changes of the sensor output. This may be more than one sample interval, if the sensor is processing or calibration of the intermediate samples during transmission of the previous sample and then taking the next measurement.Sensitivity A measure of the ability to obtain a see on a dark target or with low laser power. Sensitivity decreases at long ranges.Depth of Field The span of distance over which a measurement sensor can measure distances accurately. This may be limited by the approach of light focus collection and the maximum distance that reflect enough light to the sensor. These two factors will determine how changes in the sensitivity of the sensor with distance.2.2.3 Performance Of Optical Sensor On Specula And Diffuse TargetsAll sensors require a bit of laser light to the back surface of the target to operate. The amount of light needed is a measure of the sensitivity of the device. In general, the most lovesome devices are more expensive and accurate measurement of high sampling frequency requires more thought than for lower sampling frequencies. For diffuse targets, the higher the reflectance of the target, the best performance of a sensor will be. Lightweight m aterials such as wood, paper or white paint is non-cooperative targets that work well at all distances. The 50 darkest carbonic materials feet from a rangefinder can return only one ten-millionth of the light that reaches them at a rangefinder. The maximum range and depth of field can be limited to as little as 1.5 of what is possible with ordinary, light-colours surfaces. In addition to the amount of light a surface reflects the way light is reflected can actuate the performance of an optical sensor. Many surfaces are partly specula and partially diffuse. These can be difficult to measure the amount of light reflected to a sensor may vary considerably with the angle of the target surface.2.2.4 Accuracy, Repeatability and ResolutionThe accuracy of a sensor is a measure of the difference can be provided between the reading of a sensor and the actual distance measured. The resolution is the smallest change in measured distance. The resolution is the smallest change in the distance a s ensor can detect and is usually a value smaller than the precision error. Accuracy can be affected by reflection from the target temperature, ambient light, which will generally not affect the resolution.Repeatability is the measure of the stability of the sensor over time. Generally, the sample repeatability sample will be lower for very fast sampling rates, because less time is used for measuring average. As the sampling frequency is lowered, the repeatability will improve, but this cannot continue indefinitely. Beyond some deceleration rate of the sample, the repeatability will start to get worse as the long-term drift in the components and changes in temperature cause changes in output of the sensor.2.2.5 Spot Size and Divergence new(prenominal) specifications which may be important are the laser spot size and divergence of the beam. Some applications require a small spot for high-resolution, measurement while others require a larger diameter spot of averaging rough surfaces or for midsection safety concerns.2.2.6 Visible and Infrared LasersBoth visible and infrared (IR) laser are used in distance measurement. For some applications, the advantage of being able to see the spot is an advantage, while others do not want the place to be seen. For some sensors, they have two versions of visible and infrared. IR versions are slightly more sensitive and more accurate than the version visible and IR models have a wider range of laser powers.2.2.7 Class of Lasers2.2.7,1 Class IIt has no possibility damaging the eye. That is because of a low power of the output (in which eye damage case is impossible, even after the hours of exposure), or because of an enclosure preventing the access of the users to the laser beam during normal operation, any individual, independently of the conditions of exposure to the eyes or the skin, No one can expect to be wounded by a laser of class I. No requirements of safety are necessary to use with the devices of laser class. The lasers of class I are apparatuses with low power which are regarded as sure of all the potential dangers. Some examples of the use of the laser of class I are as follows the printers laser, CD-ROM devices, the geo system of logical equipment of survey and the laboratory equipment of analysis (Laser Safety, 2010).Figure 2.6 Example of Class I Application Laser printing machine(Application of Laser Product, 2008)2,2,7,2 Class IIClass II laser can damage the eyes of the person if deliberately looks in the beam for one prolonged period (i.e 15 minutes). Power of output can be up to 1 mW. This category includes the lasers that emitting a visible light. Certain pointers lasers are in this category. The lasers of class II are of low power which is less than 1mW, lasers of the visible light which could cause damage with the eyes of a person. Some examples of laser use of class II are demonstrations in class, the pointers laser, devices of aiming and the distance measuring equipment. Avoid loo king in a laser beam of class II or pointing a laser beam of class II in the eyes of another person. Avoid looking at class II of the beams laser with telescopic devices. To take hold out that the light of a laser beam of class II in the eyes causes a normal reaction to divert the glance or to close the eyes (Laser Safety Policy, 2010).Figure 2.7 Example of Class II Application Barcode Scanner(Application of Laser Product, 2008)2.2.7.3 Class IIaLaser class where it is in the low-power output of Class II ans the laser requires in excess of 1000 seconds of continuous viewing to produce a burn to the retina. Commercial laser scanners are in this subclass (Laser Safety, 2010).Figure 2.8 Example of Class IIa Application Laser Disco Light(Starfield Projector, 2007)2.2.7.4 Class IIIaThe lasers of class IIIa are from continuous wave. The lasers in this class are most of the time dangerous in combination with the optical instruments which change the density of diameter or power of beam. T he power of the output is not olympian 5 MW. The density of power of beam cannot exceed 2.5 mW/square centimetres. Many sights of laser for weapons with kick upstairs and indicators of laser are in this category of devices with intermediate output power (1-5 mW). Some examples of the uses of laser of class IIIa are identical to that laser of class II with the most popular uses being indicators of laser and modules of laser scanner. The direct viewing of the laser beam of IIIa of class could be dangerous with the eyes. Directly do not look at the laser beam of IIIa of class (Laser Safety, 2010).Figure 2.9 Example of Class IIIa Application Military Equipment(Marushin M16A1)2.2.7.5 Class IIIbThe lasers in this class can damage if the beam enters the eye directly. This generally applies to the lasers actuated starting from 5-500 mW. The lasers in this category can damage permanent eye with exposures of 1/100th one second or less according to the force of the laser and the lasers at t he end of high power of this class can also present a fire hazard and can slightly burn the skin. A diffuse reflection is generally not dangerous but the specular reflections can be like dangerous that is direct exposures. All times that occupying a control field of laser, carry the suitable protection of eye. Protective Eyewear is recommended when the direct viewing of beam of the lasers of IIIb of class can occur. Some examples of the uses of laser of IIIb of class are spectrometry, two-channel lithography, and the light of entertainment shows (Laser Safety Policy, 2010).Figure 2.10 Example of Class IIIb Application Military Equipment(Azari, 1998-2009)2.2.7.6 Class IVThe lasers of class which is the majority of entertainment, industrialists, scientists, military and medical are in this category. Some examples of use of laser of class IV are surgery, research, drilling, cutting, welding, and the lasers micromachining in this class produced powers moreover than 500mW or pulsed of 10 J/cm2 in the beam and can damage considerably and permanent the eye or the skin without being magnify by optical system of eye or instrumentation. It can be dangerous to peel or observe diffuse reflexions of the laser beam in the nominal zone of risk. The lasers of class IV are devices of high power. The direct beam and the diffuse reflections of the lasers of class IV are dangerous with the eyes and the skin. The devices of laser of class IV can also be a fire hazard according to the reaction of the target once struck. Orders much larger are required to ensure the sure exploitation of this class of the devices of laser. All times that occupying a control field of laser, carry the suitable protection of eye. The majority of the damage of eye of laser occur reflected beams of the light of laser of class IV, thusly maintain all materials reflective left the beam. Do not place your hand or any other part of body in the laser beam of class IV (Laser Safety, 2010).Figure 2.11 Example of Class IV Application Laboratory Equipment(Oxford, 2009)2.2.8 Method of Measuring Distance Based On LaserLasers can be used in various ways to measure distances or travel without physical contact. Laser length measurements allow the most sensitive and accurate records for extremely rapid and larger measurement ranges, even if these qualities are usually not combined with a single technique. According to specific requests, very different technical approaches may be appropriate. Some laser applications such as in architecture, inspection of manufacturing facilities, crime scene investigation (CSI), and the army (Paschotta D. R., 2010).2.2.8.1 triangular Measurement MethodIt exploits the ability of a laser beam to propa entre in a well-collimated form (ie with small divergence) over long distances. In a typical case, the laser beam illuminates a point and the laser is essentially used as a pointer. Diffuse or specular reflections of this item are followed by a detector that is mou nted in a distance from the laser beam, so that the laser source, object and detector form a triangle. The of import is same like the ship trying to find the distance from the shore (Encyclopedia of Laser Physics and Technology, 2010).Figure 2.12 Triangulation Method(B., C., D., 2010)The high detection rate, it is possible to control the position of a moving or vibrating example part of some machines. The precision obtained is very accurate compared with other devices. For diffuse reflections, the distance may be limited by the obligation to receive a sufficient amount of reflected optical power, with specular reflection, a greater distance can be measured, but a sort of angular alignment is required (Paschotta D. R., 2010).2.2.8.2 Time-Of-Flight Measurement MethodTime of flight measurements are often used to measure a distance, used for example in an air monotonous, possibly in the form of laser scanning radar. Here, a device sends an optical pulse and measure short time until a reflected portion of the pulse is controlled. The distance is then calculated using the speed of light. This method usually used for measuring distance, like hundreds of meters or several miles. By using advanced techniques (involving high-quality telescopes, very sensitive photo detector, etc..) With the precision of a few centimeters, it is possible to measure e.g. the distance between Earths and to obtain an accurate write of a dam.Over time, measures are preferably used in flight for long distances, the beam quality of laser source is crucial. For large distances, high pulse energies are required. This may raise issues of laser safety, especially if the laser wavelength is not in the eye safe region. For nanojoule to microjoule pulse energies (as required for medium distances), it is possible to use a chip laser passive Q-switched Er Yb glass, which can generate pulses rather short (the duration of the order of 1 ns) with pulse energies of Yb about 10 J in the spectral region to eye safety (Paschotta D. R., 2010).2.2.8.3 strain Shift Measurement MethodThe method of phase trade usually use in laser rangefinders, a technique for measuring distances in the following manner. A laser beam with sinusoidally modulated optical power is sent to a target. Some reflected light (diffuse sources or specular reflections) is monitored, and phase modulation power is compared to the light sent. The phase shift obtained is 2 times the time of flight time frequency modulation. This shows that higher modulation frequencies can result in better spatial resolution. Although the phase shift is directly comparative to the duration of the flight, the length of time of flight method should be reserved for cases where one really measures a delay time more directly.Figure 2.13 Phase Shift Method(Dixon Henlich, 1997)With regard to an interferometer, the phase shift method has an ambiguity in the distance, because with the distance from the phase varies periodically. However, the f requency is much greater than in an interferometer, since the frequency modulation is much smaller than the optical frequency. In addition, ambiguity can be easily removed, for example, by measuring with two different modulation frequencies.2.3 FPGAField-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) are ICs that contain an array of identical logic blocks with programmable interconnections. It also can be classified as one of the programmable logic device (PLD). There are also some other type of PLD which is Simple Programmable Logic Device (SPLD) and Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD). The user can program the function completed by each logic block and the connections between the blocks. FPGAs have revolutionized the way prototyping and designing are done. The flexibility offered by reprogrammable FPGAs has enhanced the design process. There are a variety of FPGA products operable in market now. Xilinx, Altera, Lattice Semiconductor, Actel, Cypress, Quick Logic and Atmel are examples of c ompanies that design and sell FPGAs.2.3.1 DE2 BoardFigure 2.14 DE2 Board illustration EP2C35F672C6(DE2 information and Education User Manual)The following hardware is provided on the DE2 boardAltera Cyclone II 2C35 FPGA deviceAltera Serial Configuration device EPCS16USB Blaster (on board) for programming and user API control both JTAG and Active Serial (AS) programming modes are supported512-Kbyte SRAM8-Mbyte SDRAM4-Mbyte Flash memory (1 MByte on some boards)SD Card socket4 pushbutton switches8 render switches18 red user LEDs9 green user LEDs50-MHz oscillator and 27-MHz oscillator for clock sources24-bit CD-quality audio CODEC with line-in, line-out, and microphone-in jacksVGA DAC (10-bit high-speed triple DACs) with VGA-out connexionTV Decoder (NTSC/PAL) and TV-in connector10/100 Ethernet Controller with a connectorUSB Host/Slave Controller with USB type A and type B connectorsRS-232 transceiver and 9-pin connectorPS/2 mouse/keyboard connectorIrDA transceiverTwo 40-pin Expansi on Headers with diode protection2.3.2 Block Diagram of the DE2 BoardFigure 2.15 Block Diagram of DE2 Board Model EP2C35F672C6(DE2 maturement and Education User Manual)2.3.3 Cyclone IIAltera Cyclone II FPGA density range has 68,416 logic elements (GE) and provide up to 622 usable I / O pins and up to 1.1 Mbits of embedded memory. In the early 1970s, Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) had been on the market. These devices used two-level logic structures which are AND plane as the first level of logic which generally fixed while the second level known as OR plane which is programmable.Figure 2.17 Some Example Of PLD Basic Circuit(David, 2006)2.3.5 FPGA TypesConfiguration TechnologyTechnology Overview And FeaturesSRAM BasedAn external device program the device on power up. It allows fast reconfiguration. Configuration is explosive. Device must be configured out of the circuit.2.3.6 Advantages of FPGAsHowever they have compensating advantages, largely due to the fact that they are standard parts.FPGA has larger capacity, more architecture and more register than other PLD. It is because the FPGA is the evolution of the PLD before it.There is no wait from completing the design to obtaining a working chip. The design can be programmed into the FPGA and tested immediately.FPGAs are excellent prototyping vehicles. When the FPGA is used in the final design, the jump from prototype to product is much smaller and easier to negotiate. The same FPGA can be used in several different designs, reducing inventory costs.2.3.7 Disadvantages of FPGAsFPGAs are not custom parts, so they arent good at any particular function as dedicated chip designed for that application. FPGAs are generally slower and burn more power than custom logic. FPGAs are also relatively expen sive.2.3.8Types of FPGAReprogrammable (SRAM-based)Xilinx, Altera

NAB Connect And Online Business Banking Information Technology Essay
NAB splice And Online Business Banking In frame of referenceation Technology EssayThis look study is about NAB Connect which is a service presumptuousness by National Australia Bank to the personal credit line owners. It is like a retail banking operation which gives sub services to the owners that tush be used any clipping anywhere. In this case study I have placed many compounds and their benefits which were occurred in 2 years in my presence. The case study covers the topics of leadership and change management. We were distributed in 2 teams one was in Jaipur Genpact and another was in Melbourne (Australia) who could directly contact to the respective organizations bankers.Changes were utilise in the process and our lean moods upgraded our process. Our customers and team leaders were very happy with our clear. The applications which were used to be processed manually nowadays only because of OA we stub now process even the complex application accurately. Without the support of my team members this will not be at all possible as team work is required to achieve a particular goal. Now the current situation of our process is that the team members can work on any application and my team members are now very participative in the process.LeadershipDefinitionLeadershipis the process ofsocial esteemin which one person can influences others to fulfil an objective and directs the organization with a group of con manikin to achieve a common goal through change.Leader An individual who has granted authority, usually found on hierarchal position, in an organization.Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership knowledge and skills make it more cohesive and coherent. Leadership is in conclusion about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen. My process (NAB Connect) leader was my coach. Earlier was Anurag Singh and now he is replaced with Rahul Swami as Anurag was promoted to senior manager in another process in NAB.In my Team there were 16 members. Each one had individual skills and talents. My Manager Anurag Singh who leaded us for 1 year 10 months was a fan ominous and flexible leader. He used to take a daily huddle for 20-30 minutes. And in this huddle he used to encourage each one of us. He also delivered new ideas and knowledge to how to handle a team or a group of people and work. He used to tell us his experiences as he had an experience of 7-8 years in NAB.My Australian leaders were Lidia Pipiekez, Sandra Pekez and team. Sandra and Lidia also visited to Genpact Jaipur site once when our vaporize batch was started to teach us about our process. They have conducted a formal training to make us learn about the process NAB Connect. It was bulky experience with NAB Connect team in Genpact.I can relate this assignment to the leadership theory of Situational and Participative as our leaders chose the best course of action based upon the situational variables and our team memb ers had taken the input of others into vizor. The leaders encouraged participation and contributions from group members.Change ManagementDefinitionChange managementis a constructiond advent to developingindividuals, teams, andorganizationsfrom a current status to a desired future status. It is aimed at empowering the employees to secure and changes of the grip in their current pipeline environment within the organizational process. In Change management, project changes are formally introduced and approved.Every individual has a right to speak and dine their views for the partnerships sugar and up gradation during a change.Organizational Change ExamplesStrategic changes- mean changing in the content of firms strategy as explained by competitive advantages, eye socket and synergies.Structural changes- when the company changes its functions or operations to achieve a common goal.Technological changes- as the name indicates the change in the technology or artifice of a technology, the continuous process of improving a technology in an organization.Changing attitudes and behaviors of personnel- changes in the behavior of the employees or an employee start taking by-line in achieving the goals of an organization.According to this case below changes can be related to the theory of organizational change i.e. behaviors of personnel and changing the attitudes as most of my team members including me had given ideas to make process easy and less time consuming. We helped each other in complex applications. Solved the problems of the customers and we were also awarded the recognitions.NAB Connect (Case Study)NAB Connect helps you streamline your business banking online, in spite of the size of the business or how you currently handle your banking process.NAB Connect ActionsMoving from National OnlineCurrent company uses national online to manage their own business banking however the companys owners travel frequently, evenly overseas, in order to monitor their finan ces faster while on the track they are appearing to upgrade to an internet banking platform. But they have issues about the internet security and how the time consuming it will be for the owners in transferring the info to NAB Connect.NAB Connects raised features can give owners repose knowing that their financial information is protected, by the use of their security tokens, the owners and authorized staff can access the platform and authorize payments, even while travelling.Moving from NABs Internet BankingNAB Internet Banking has been used by the families to handle their own personal and business finances for years. Example Hard Earth Removals Pty Ltd is small, but fast-expanding family business. With NAB Connect, Hard Earth Removals would have largeer control over their business banking. The family could assign account viewing rights andservice access for every user, and for better management they also can apply for daily payment limits to their cash flows.Moving from Branch a nd border BankingChristopher used as a lawyer to run his business in a traditional way. All of his accounts in log books are still filed and his banking is do within a branch or over the phoneWith NAB Connect, Christopher can save time and administration costs. Instead of arranging through never-failing paperwork, he can simply log on to NAB Connect service. There he can view his transaction history and easily peg cheques, he has written and deposits by viewing images of his accounts.WHAT and WHY CHANGES implementedI worked with NAB Connect in Genpact for 2 years. It was started on 21st July 2008. It was like a retail banking process. We had 2 teams one was our team which work in Jaipur Genpact and another was in Australia in National Australia Bank who were our clients. I used to check the form of the business owners which was filled by them to make the transaction through NAB Connect. The queries or incomplete information filled by the business owners bankers were sent to Aust ralian team and then they contact to the bankers of respective organizations to update the incomplete or incorrect information in the form. The following are the changes and reasons occurred while I was workingDecember 2008Data File Download serviceGives you the capability to download the below filesAccount Information File (BAI2 format)Locked Box ReportsBPAY ReportsDirect Entry father ReportsJuly 2009Earlier authorizing users were not allowed to authorize payments not more than 10 but now the authorizing users can save a cogent amount of time by authorizing up to 20 payments simultaneously using their own security token.Account preferred names can now be modified by security department Officers.October 2009My team members given many lean ideas for the change in process or to make process easier. Following are the lean ideasThe site ID of the customer to be written in the tracker so that during the preparation of the day end report it will be pulled out in the excel sheet and can be filtered to the respective organization.Earlier the applications of the customers were onboarded by our team manually which used to take much time as the applications were used to be long as well. However now because of the lean idea given by one of my team members, the applications are now can be run on a tool called Onboarding Accelerator (OA) which onboard the client automatically with accuracy. These changes can be related to the attitudes and behavioral change in the process as the team members were taking interest in improving the process and also helping other members in the team. It can also be related to the technological theory of change management.By giving three lean ideas my team members were awarded Lean Recognition Certificate and they were offered Lean Six Sigma training as well.March 2010Now all the tools on which we used to work with different crys on receive site were difficult to remember upgraded to different site in which all the tools are now accessed with out password however the initial password is still required due to data privacy. This can be related to the structural change as earlier the structure of opening a website on which we used to work was typical to remember the passwords of every tool and now the website structure was totally changed that now we no claim to remember many passwords.May 2010The default access services which are given to Security Officers were not updated on OA so they were used to be added manually to the users profile however now these services are updated on OA and they are automatically added to the respective Security Officers in the organization. The long forms are now upgraded to Delegated empowerment Form (DAF) which contains a company name and the account number on the form. With the account number customer number of the organization is identified and sends back to Australian team. Then the Australian team asks the customer to fill in all the details which is then onboarded via OA.This change can be related to the technological change as by the use of updated OA the applications were taking less time in onboarding.July 2010Earlier we used to send the application back to Australian team for ghost verification of the customer, warning indicator T or Z on an account as theaccount cant be added with these indicators to the profile and then Australian clients contact with respective organization banker for the resolution which was time consuming. However now we send the queries direct to the banker with a readymade template which reduced time and cycle. This lean idea was submitted by me.Customers can now be able to create periodic payments. Periodic payments endorse you to manage payments to be made on a monthly, fortnightly, periodical or quarterly basis for all payment types, excluding International Transfers or payments. The above changes can relate to the strategic change as the strategy of displace the application to the Melbourne and then to respective bankers was very time consuming, by these changes the turnaround time was reduced and simultaneously the strategy process also changed.ConclusionIt was my great experience while working with NAB Connect in Genpact. We have reduced the business dependence and also increased job opportunities as nab Connect applications were gradually increasing. With all these above changes made our work very easy and convenient. Now we enjoy onboarding the complex application via OA. We increased from 16 to 20 in numbers.Because of OA we are now able to onboard the client easily and accurately. Our customers were very happy with the accuracy of our work. The Australian customers should use NAB Connect as a tool for their business as the owners can access to NAB Connect anywhere, anytime. We increased from 1000 to 35000 customers in 2 years and planning to increase the customers to 60000 by next year. The thing we need to focus on is accuracy although we are provided the best training. The team needs to be also focuse d upon turnaround time and SLA of the applications and amendments. As I mentioned above that we are now sending the queries direct to the bankers by this we can reduce the time and multiple follow ups of may be deducted.

Logically, a contradiction consists of opposition between two counterpoint ideas. Therefore, human contradiction would be opposing oneself to another somebody by saying or doing the opposite of whatever he or she says. A person should not say one thing and then turn around do another. Actions should be external representations of a persons internal motives and be non-contradictory. Henrik Ibsens characters Aslaksen, Billing, Hovstad, Mayor Peter Stockmann and Morten Kiil atomic number 18 wonderful examples of human contradictions because they undergo complete identity reversals from which they start with. These five characters are special representatives of the community that are supposed to have the equitable of the community at heart. In reality, they use scientific and factual truth for personal gain and biased motives instead of the good of the community. There is a sense of diversity in the often contradictory motives that affect all human behavior. Ibsen came to change his technique of writing throughout his charge from non-dramatic to dramatic. It would not be bad a contradiction, except for his reasoning behind it. He seems to change his writing with hope that a more dramatic technique might attract more people to his writings, enabling him to convey his thoughts and visions much more publically and in a more conventional manner. Unlike well-nigh authors that emphasized plot and intrigue at the time, Ibsen subtly inserted views contradictory to that of people at the time. He showed those contradictions of people in the ways in which they behaved and tried to think, oddly in stressful situations like the ones that are created by cook Stockmann and other characters in Ibsens An Enemy of the People. The characters become inconsistent, m... ... does not have the communitys best interest at heart like he should. He offers Doctor Stockmann social and financial security as well as a short term exile if only the Doctor leaves the subject alone and re tracts everything that he has said thus far. He also offers in return to the Doctor the ability to be reinstated at a later time. So really he has no change in heart, nor in contradiction since he suffers no change. In conclusion, each of these five characters that are somehow important to the community goes through a human contradiction or multiple ones. In similitude to Doctor Stockmann who remains steadfast in his ideals of nothing but the truth is good enough, each of these characters has an ugly internal contradiction to what their external actions should be. Nothing is make for the good of the people, but what is good for each persons individual gains.
